Nosso site tem mais de 600 publicações com dados inéditos que obtivemos do governo e os mais de 5 mil assinantes da newsletter “Don’t LAI to me“ recebem quinzenalmente dezenas de bases de dados que nunca haviam sido publicadas antes pelas autoridades, acompanhadas de tutoriais para que todos possam ter acesso a informações públicas. A iniciativa foi premiada em 2019 com o primeiro prêmio Cláudio Weber Abramo de Jornalismo de Dados, e o segundo lugar no prêmio Livre.Jor Jornalismo-Mosca.
Com o Projeto Sem Sigilo liberamos centenas de documentos mantidos em sigilo mesmo após expirado o prazo previsto em lei. Tudo publicado gratuitamente, licenciado como Creative Commons International CC BY 4.0. Promovemos ainda a educação cívica de jornalistas, cidadãos, pesquisadores e servidores por meio de palestras, oficinas e workshops sobre a Lei de Acesso à Informação pelo Brasil.

Fiquem Sabendo‘s mission is to spread access to information and transparency tools in order to promote active oversight of public power, strengthening participatory democracy.

Fiquem Sabendo‘s vision is to democratize the use of the Law on Access to Information and Open Data in Brazil by 2030. Our values are Ethics, Transparency and Technology for empowering citizens.
SPECIFICATIONS
Fiquem Sabendo makes requests, reports and lawsuits for access to information with a multidisciplinary team to obtain information of public interest. We process data and analyze documents and disclose relevant information to society.
We distribute government data to citizens, journalists, researchers, news outlets, activists and NGOs committed to government transparency, democracy and Human Rights. Fiquem Sabendo also publish exclusive news stories both in our website and on Yahoo Brasil.
INSTITUCIONAL
Fiquem Sabendo is a non-profit, non-partidary independent organization – officially recognized by the Brazilian Federal Reserve in December of 2018. In 2020 we were certified as Human Rights Organization by the State of São Paulo and the Secretary of Human Rights and Justice of the City of São Paulo.
BACKGROUND
Fiquem Sabendo is a start-up. In 2 years as a data agency, we have produced over 700 reports with original data obtained via LAI (Brazilian Freedom of Information Law) by our team, in addition to +3.000 news published with information released by Fiquem Sabendo in hundreds of communication channels and media in all of Brazil’s 27 states.

Awards
Don’t LAI to me, a newsletter by Fiquem Sabendo for those who want information directly from the source, was awarded first place in the Open Data category of the Cláudio Abramo Data Journalism Award, granted by Open Knowledge Brasil. The project was also awarded the third place in the Jornalismo na Mosca Award by Livre.jor.
International acknowledgement
In 2020, we received a grant from the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) to promote an exchange between the Brazilian Access to Information Law (LAI) and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in the United States. In 2019, we participated in Colóquio Iberoamericano de Periodismo, part of the International Symposium on Online Journalism (ISOJ), in Texas.
Our work has been recognized abroad by international specialized media, like IJNET, Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas and GIJN.
